First-Year Veterans Special Living Option to be offered for the 2019-2020 academic year

Friday, August 24, 2018

Penn State Housing and Residence Life, in partnership with the Office of Veterans Programs at University Park, will offer a new Special Living Option (SLO) for first-year veteran students for the 2019-2020 academic year. First-year undergraduate students with veteran status who are enrolled in the EDUC 100 Veterans First-Year Seminar will be eligible to live in this SLO. The First-Year Veterans SLO will offer veteran students a space to transition to college with others sharing a similar experience, take a first-year seminar course with others in the living environment, and engage in a social community with non-traditionally aged college students.

The First-Year Veterans SLO will be located in White Course Apartments, which offers 4-person/4-bedroom fully-furnished apartments. Each apartment features four private bedrooms, two bathrooms, a shared kitchen and living room spaces, and a washer/dryer. These apartments are located on the west side of campus, which is easily accessible via the Red Link CATA bus line.

Interested students can select the First-Year Veterans SLO as a preference on the Housing and Food Service (HFS) Contract.
