HFS Contract Cancellations

The Housing and Food Service (HFS) Contract is a legally-binding contract that once accepted, cannot be canceled unless the student is no longer attending the University. A student acknowledges this condition when accepting the HFS Contract, as identified in the Contract Signing Statements: Section 11: Contract Cancellation or Release.  

  • First-year students are required to reside on campus. Under certain circumstances, a student may submit an exemption request from the residency requirement.
  • Upper-class students are not required to reside on campus, and accepting the HFS Contract indicates the student attends to live on campus. The HFS Contract cannot be cancelled for a student to move off campus. Under certain circumstances, a student may submit a contract cancellation request for an extenuating circumstance.
