Change of Campus
Current Penn State students who are considering a Change of Campus to another Penn State campus
If you are considering a Change of Campus to another residential Penn State campus, you must first initiate the request through the Change of Campus contact in the Registrar's office. If you are interested in living on campus, you must participate in the housing contract process during the established Housing Contract Timeline.
It is highly recommended that you submit a HFS Contract request for both campuses – your current campus of enrollment, and your expected Change of Campus. If you are offered a HFS Contract for one or both campuses, you should accept both offers, even if your Change of Campus has not yet been approved. Once it is determined which campus you will attend, it is your responsibility to cancel the HFS Contract for the campus you will not be attending by contacting the Assignment Office. There is no penalty to cancel a HFS Contract at the campus you are not attending.
For students considering a Change of Campus to University Park, there are different housing options available that can be requested. Various housing options have different time periods for when the HFS Contracts are offered, so be sure to review the timeline to ensure that you have submitted a request by the deadline.
Housing space is not reserved for students requesting a Change of Campus. If you do not participate in the housing lottery process during the established timeline, and you do not have a HFS Contract, you may add your name to the Supplemental Housing Waitlist in eLiving. There is no guarantee you will receive an offer for a HFS Contract.
If you do receive a HFS Contract offer for a campus that is not your current campus of enrollment, it does not imply that your Change of Campus has been or will be approved. Accepting the HFS Contract offer does not guarantee that your Change of Campus will be approved.
