South Halls

South Halls is located in the southeastern area of campus, along East College Avenue and downtown State College. With over 3,200 spaces available, South Housing Area offers housing options for both first-year students and upper-class students. Limited space for approximately 890 first-year students are available in McElwain, Atherton, and Simmons Halls. The majority of space in Atherton and Simmons Halls is reserved for students who are a member of the Schreyer Honors College program. Renovated residence halls are reserved for upper-class students only. Sorority Chapters are housed in Cooper, Cross, Ewing, Haller, Hoyt, and Lyons Halls, McElwain Hall is a designated Break Access/Holiday Housing building. Supplemental housing is offered in McElwain, Simmons, Cross, Haller, and Hoyt Halls.
